I’m sure no one has ever written a blog post about their favorite white paints… so here I come with this groundbreaking news…
“Which White” is the question that I get asked most often. It’s a fair question, albeit a tricky one as it not a “one size fits all” kind of answer.
White is the most popular paint color for good reason. But which white?
I don’t piecemeal things together, especially with my clients. So when this question comes up or if you are looking to paint a room, you need to consider the following:
1. What kind of light does the room get? Consider natural lighting as well as light fixtures AND the light bulbs.
2. What are the undertones in each white? Blues, Reds, Yellows, etc.
3. What other colors are in the room? Do they feel warm or cool?
4. What are the materials in the space? (Cabinetry, flooring, tile, hardware, etc).
I have a whole bunch of paint samples on hand and when my clients and I decide on a color, it definitely involves a paint sample on the wall for a few days to see what kind of light it reflects throughout the day.
But back to this question; “Which white” is a hard one to answer, but I can give you some of my favorite whites that top my list.
